Project Overview

Te Kapua Park Playground in the small town of Tūrangi, New Zealand, has won two awards at the 2024 Resene NZILA Awards. Designed by in collaboration with the local community, the play area reflects the area’s history and narrative. The playground’s surface represents the Tongariro River, and the surrounding landscape has a strong association with Ngati Turangitukua, making it a welcoming area rich with cultural representation.

The team installed a colourful softfall surface using blends of Rosehill TPV®, providing protection against slips, trips, and falls. With exceptional UV stability, the colours and softness remain intact even after prolonged exposure to New Zealand’s weather conditions, ensuring lasting enjoyment.
